Izziwotnot's Bailey Sleigh cot-bed isn't cheap but it's stylish and well made. It's easy to put together, although it does take two people, and it looks great in any nursery. The panel was a huge hit with our panelists, who loved the dark wood sides as well as the dowel edges. It's strong enough for your baby to use up until they become toddlers. It also is compliant with British safety standards. The depth is not enough that your child can climb out and the distance between slats should not exceed 65mm. This will prevent their heads from getting trapped. It is important to remember that you will need to purchase a mattress on its own and that's an extra PS88.
The cot stands out because of its sleigh-shaped design. It's also easy to get your baby inside and out of, which is a big plus. It is a bit more expensive than other cots, but our panel thought it was worth it for the looks and durability.

The westport design by Silver Cross is another cot that is sturdy and built to last. It can be used from birth as a cot, later as a toddler bed, and then an adult bed. (Toddler guard rail is sold separately). Our panel members found it to be difficult to change from cot to bed, however their other half of them said it was easy and took less than five minutes to complete. It's also a tad more expensive than other cots, however it's the kind of design that you'll likely want to keep for your children as they grow older.
